Last time we had our pictures done Lilly was Sam's age. So I figured it was about time. And of course my pick was Abbey at AK Studio and Design and as always, she did not disappoint. If you haven't checked her out, I would highly recommend doing so. Not just for family pictures, she does an excellent job at weddings/ bridals, individuals, baby (I love how Sam's turned out), and just about anything else you could possibly think of and in my opinion is more than fairly prices AND she didn't even pay me to say that! She does such a good job with the colors and making sure to capture the essence of my kids' personalities at this particular stage. I love it.

Oh my little drama queen....she bonked her head when we asked her to scoot back and was not happy...
But don't you fret....Abbey came prepared with smarties and it fixed it in a second, what a little actress.
I debated on her puffs....I thought they were adorable, but I wasn't sure if it was going to end up as the fashion trend that she'll despise when she's older and mock me for it. Oh well, I guess there has to be one, this may as well be it and I love how it turned out.
I LOVE this picture of Sammy. So funny! Its like he's saying, "Please....no pictures. Yes, I am aware of how awesome I am, but please...no pictures."
Seriously....I just want to squeeze him!! This is his typical face....
Oh I love my boys...
If you know Jim, you know how much I had to beg, bribe, and threaten him to be on his best behavior. He did a good job, but was pretty uptight. So Abbey pulled Connor aside and told him to lick his cheek on her mark.

I was trying so hard not to laugh...I knew how hard it was for Jim to have a serious face for the candid shots.
And right when I was about to kiss him he of course says something inappropriate...
I told Abbey that I wanted a picture of us holding hands, I don't know who started it...but we've held hands like this since we dated. Sometimes we try and hold hands normally and it feels weird...
I wanted something different. I saw an engagement couple on Abbey's blog that did a shoot with paint. I thought that it would be fun, I didn't even tell Jim till he got there....figured he'd be stuck and wouldn't have a chance to back out. It turned out so cute and bright.
Abbey is so clever....she sends a pre email asking what I am hoping to get out of the shoot so that I end up with the best possible outcome, one of my requests was to capture my girls. They are getting to be so close and it makes me so thankful my Heavenly Father was in charge of how far apart they'd be instead of me. I think that Lilly just couldn't wait another second to be back together with her sister. This wasn't even coached...
Apparently I didn't have enough paint on me so Abbey gave the girls permission to have a free shot. My hair is so dark that it took a LOT of paint to finally show up....and a LOT of washing to get out. I saw blue on my shower floor for days....totally worth it
We wanted a before and after shot...the after turned out to be a little harder than we thought because the whole paint fight wound them right up. Thankfully Abbey has a whole lot of patience
Bar none....my FAVORITE PICTURE. This is the essence of Lauren in a single shot
How does that paint taste, Sam?
OH THAT CUTE TONGUE!!!!
What a good sport....
Thank you Abbey.....they are perfect
